It\u2019s a free choice,\u201d Bruno Pavlovsky, Fashion President at Chanel, said to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.co.uk\/article\/chanel-to-stop-use-of-exotic-skins-and-fur\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">British Vogue<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The brand\u2019s attention will shift to the research and development of materials and leathers generated by \u201cagri-food\u201d industries <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uWa5BJIhtx\">https:\/\/t.co\/uWa5BJIhtx<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 British Vogue (@BritishVogue) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BritishVogue\/status\/1070073011309608960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 4, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe champagne corks are popping at PETA, thanks to Chanel&#8217;s annou<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ncement that it&#8217;s kicking fur and exotic skins\u2014including crocodile, lizard, and snakeskin\u2014to the curb,\u201d reads the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">statement from PETA Director of International Programmes Mimi Bekhechi, sent to <em>Voice of London. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The French luxury fashion house, well known for their python and calfskin handbags and accessories, told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessoffashion.com\/articles\/news-analysis\/chanel-is-banning-exotic-skins-heres-why\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Business of Fashion<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: \u201cIt is becoming increasingly difficult to source exotic skins which match our ethical standards.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cFor decades, PETA&#8217;s affiliates have called on the brand to opt for luxury, cruelty-free fashion that no animal had to suffer and die for, and now it&#8217;s time for other companies, like Louis Vuitton, to follow the lead of the iconic double C&#8217;s and do the same\u201d continues the statement from Mimi Bekhechi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From high street retailers to luxury designers, here\u2019s a list of brands with a no-fur policy:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28578\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2018\/12\/image2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"719\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This isn\u2019t the only major change Chanel is implementing this year.
