{"id":30810,"date":"2019-10-27T10:11:31","date_gmt":"2019-10-27T10:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=30810"},"modified":"2019-10-27T10:11:31","modified_gmt":"2019-10-27T10:11:31","slug":"lorry-driver-charged-with-manslaughter-of-39-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/lorry-driver-charged-with-manslaughter-of-39-people\/","title":{"rendered":"Three released on bail as Essex lorry investigation continues"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Three people arrested on Friday in connection with the lorry carrying 39 bodies have been released on bail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A man and a woman, both 38, from Warrington, Cheshire have been released on bail until 11 November, and a 45-year-old man from Northern Ireland until 13 November.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maurice Robinson, 25 and the driver of the lorry, of Laurel Drive, Craigavon, Northern Ireland, was initially arrested after the bodies &#8211; 31 men and eight women &#8211; were discovered in Grays, Essex. He has since been<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0charged with m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">anslaughter,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0h<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">uman t<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">rafficking, a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ssisting i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">llegal i<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mmigration and m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">oney laundering<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, according to Essex Police.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mr Robinson is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on the 28<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Words: Kim Se Hee l Photo: Reuters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three people arrested on Friday in connection with the lorry carrying 39 bodies have been released on bail.
