She gained fame in 2006 after coming second place in the American singing competition show, <em>American Idol<\/em>. Five years after <em>American Idol<\/em>, she starred in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Smash<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, a cult American musical drama following two budding actresses fighting for the role of Marilyn Monroe in a musical about her life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During her four-month West End stint, she acted alongside West End favourites David Hunter, Laura Baldwin and Marisha Wallace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shortly after she left the West End, McPhee Foster married <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/davidfoster.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">16-time Grammy Award winning composer, record producer, and songwriter David Foster<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in South Kensington.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lucie Jones<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lucie Jones is the current Jenna Hunterson after taking over from McPhee Foster from 17th June 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bxutb0on-tw\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jones is most well-known for competing on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KCAJdq1UpK4\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The X Factor UK <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in 2009<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. After being eliminated in week five, Jones began modelling. But in 2010, she starred as Cosette in the West End production of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The musical opened many doors for Jones and she continued to star in musicals such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We Will Rock You<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ghost<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Legally Blonde<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rent<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jones took a break from theatre and went on to win <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Fl1GYTg4GmA\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Eurovision: You Decide <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in 2017<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lucie Jones is scheduled to continue her run as Jenna Hunterson until 25th January 2020, with a six-week break at the end of January.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Sara Bareilles\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">American Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and actress Sara Bareilles is the woman behind the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Waitress<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> soundtrack &#8211; and will be taking over the role of Jenna this coming January.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/B4dMWAUC_wI\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u201cLove Song\u201d singer never thought she\u2019d succeed in the musical theatre business, at one point saying, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/news\/magazine-feature\/6762172\/sara-bareilles-waitress-musical-pop-music-the-sing-off-memoir\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I would have had a really hard time writing a big musical, I don&#8217;t know what that would look or sound like. Probably not very good!&#8221;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But longtime Broadway producer Barry Weissler was convinced Bareilles was the woman for the job, \u201cwe tried other writers, and they couldn&#8217;t tell the simple, heartfelt story,\u201d quoted <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Billboard<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Weissler thought Bareilles was perfect for this \u201clean and mean\u201d musical because it\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/news\/magazine-feature\/6762172\/sara-bareilles-waitress-musical-pop-music-the-sing-off-memoir\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cnot a sprawling musical with big sets and big chorus numbers.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bareilles then went on to star in the musical. She made her Broadway debut in the musical on 31st March 2017 and reprised the role twice more.
