{"id":36185,"date":"2019-12-12T22:01:19","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T22:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=36185"},"modified":"2019-12-12T22:01:19","modified_gmt":"2019-12-12T22:01:19","slug":"election-2019-harrow-west","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/election-2019-harrow-west\/","title":{"rendered":"Election 2019: Harrow West"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Gareth Thomas, the sitting MP for this suburban constituency in north-west London, is hoping to retain the seat he has held for Labour since the 1997 general election<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The one-time Minister of State at the Department for International Development currently holds the London constituency with a majority of over 26% &#8211; obtained in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>He gained the seat in the New Labour landslide of 1997 \u2013 which ended 18 years of Conservative government.
