Millions of people took to their local polling stations to cast their vote as to who should lead the country.<\/p>\n<p>The night started controversially with the announcement of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/here-are-the-exit-polls\/\">exit polls <\/a>which gave the Conservatives a promising lead, predicting them 368 seats. This was above the 326 seats they would need to win to get majority.<\/p>\n<p>As the results started to come in just before 11:30pm, Labour had a strong lead. To viewers, it suggested that the exit polls may not be close to the actual results.
