Many entrepreneurs gave up at the very beginning, whereas others persisted until they reached bankruptcy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, Questo\u2019s story is different. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In an interview for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Voice of London<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alex Govoreanu, CEO and co-founder of the Questo app, said: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018\u2018Coronavirus is, as cynically as it may sound, a great opportunity for us, because we can offer a safe option for exploring a city.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_37655\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-37655\" class=\"size-large wp-image-37655\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2020\/10\/Questo-The-city-exploration-game-for-travels-and-locals-1024x909.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"909\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-37655\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Questo covers 80 cities around the world, seven of which in the UK. Yesterday, <a href=\"https:\/\/questoapp.com\/blog\/questo-helps-100-travel-businesses-create-self-guided-tours-for-free\">it announced its pandemic initiative<\/a> to assist 100 travel companies in creating self-guided tours by providing free access to its gaming platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Questo <a href=\"https:\/\/questoapp.com\/blog\/questo-iconic-london-taxi-tours-partnership\">partnered with Iconic London Taxi Tours<\/a> at the beginning of October to offer Londoners a new quest called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jack the Ripper<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. There are five more games in the capital and much to explore in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cambridge, Letchworth, and Bristol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018\u2018In late February, we envisioned a three-step recovery scenario. When the current situation improves, people will start playing in their own cities. Then they may feel safe to travel domestically, for example, from London to Cambridge. Finally, they may decide to go outside their country, but not very far. Many Germans went to Austria and the Netherlands during the summer. With this achievement, the team\u2019s aim to reach 100 locations by the end of 2020 seems more than feasible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Govoreanu said: \u2018\u2018Nobody had any idea about what a \u2018city exploration\u2019 is when we started doing this. Our market is still young, but we see signs of success. Questo is a member of the PhocusWire\u2019s Hot 25 Start-ups 2020 list and a semifinalist in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unwto.org\/healing-solutions-tourism-challenge\">World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Healing Solutions Tourism Challenge,<\/a> which recognises the most innovative entrepreneurs and their methods of reducing the impact of Covid-19 on tourism.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\ud83d\udd0aBig, big news! The booking is instant, and the quests are flexible. You can take a break whenever you like &#8211; get coffee, have some snacks &#8211; and continue.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Re-discovering cities with Questo is modern and affordable. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018\u2018Our quests range between \u00a39 to \u00a318. Booking a private tour guide costs around \u00a3150.\u2019\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unlike other smartphone applications, Questo informs and entertains tourists by promoting a real-life discovery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018\u2018The fun part is that you go out and do a role play. For example, you can be a medieval knight in Vienna, or Jack the Ripper in London, or a regular guy exploring Montmartre in Paris. While doing the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wizard of London &amp; The Dark Realm<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> quest in London, a friend of mine and I were staring at the Dizzy Clock on Earlham Street. We had to decipher what the letters M and T stand for and sum their value. Passers-by were intrigued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Questo improves your critical thinking with clues. Govoreanu<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0said: \u2018\u2018In our stories, we do not give you the random information provided on a regular tour, such as: \u2018They built this building in 1840.\u2019 Nobody cares about that. A lot more people were saying that it won\u2019t work. No one believed in all great companies in the early days. That\u2019s a sign of disruption. If we were to design a better search engine, everyone would know what we are doing. Photo by Questo Press Kit<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The app was awarded the Most Disruptive Travel Start-up of 2019 in Hospitality award from the World Tourism Organisation and won a grant from Booking.com Booster Lab Tel Aviv in 2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2018\u2018In 2018, we hadn\u2019t found our way yet.
