Sir Alex Allan has resigned as PM\u2019s adviser on ministerial code after Boris Johnson has ruled that Priti Patel did not breach the code following bullying accusations against her.<\/b><\/p>\n
Bullying accusations against Home Secretary, Priti Patel led to an investigation launched in March 2020 to establish whether Ms Patel had breached the ministerial code.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Following the prime minister\u2019s ruling of backing up Ms Patel, Sir Alex Allan resigned as the PM\u2019s adviser on ministerial code and commented: “I recognise it is for the prime minister to make a judgment on whether actions by a minister amount to a breach of the ministerial code.<\/span><\/p>\n “But I feel it is right that I should now resign from my position as the prime minister\u2019s independent adviser on the code.”<\/span><\/p>\n Sir Philip Rutnam, the Home Office\u2019s most senior civil servant had resigned following a feud with Ms Patel.
