{"id":42922,"date":"2020-12-09T11:30:28","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T11:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=42922"},"modified":"2020-12-09T11:30:28","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T11:30:28","slug":"londoners-urged-to-keep-to-coronavirus-rules-in-efforts-to-stop-the-capital-from-facing-tier-3-restrictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/londoners-urged-to-keep-to-coronavirus-rules-in-efforts-to-stop-the-capital-from-facing-tier-3-restrictions\/","title":{"rendered":"Londoners urged to keep to coronavirus rules in efforts to stop the Capital from facing Tier 3 restrictions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>London MPs continue to press Londoners to abide by social distancing and mask rules in a bid for the city to remain in Tier 2 restrictions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>London is seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.london.gov.uk\/coronavirus\/coronavirus-covid-19-numbers-london\">London.gov.uk<\/a> website, with the number of people in London who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 8th December totalling was 2203<\/p>\n<p>Data reports that during the week 27 November to 3 December 2020,\u00a0a total of 15,605\u00a0people tested positive in London, a rate of\u00a0174 cases per 100,000, compared to the previous week which saw a rate of\u00a0155 cases per 100,000.<\/p>\n<p>Confirmed cases are reported to be rising across East London, with boroughs Barking and Dagenham and Havering seeing the greatest number of cases.<\/p>\n<p>Referencing an Evening standard article Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, urged Londoners to keep to Coronavirus rules.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">LONDON: This is important. We still have a long winter ahead. The vaccine is here. But actually, we aren\u2019t out of the woods. The virus is very much with us.
