The surprise album will be released at midnight in the United States and at 5 am in the United Kingdom.

https://twitter.com/taylorswift13/status/1337020334122397697

Sharing the news with her fans in a Twitter thread, Swift wrote:

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in. I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning. I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them.”

There are 15 tracks on the standard edition of Evermore but the deluxe physical edition will include two bonus tracks titled, ‘Right Where You Left Me’ and ‘It’s Time To Go’. Described as the ‘sister album’ to Folklore, the songs are co-written by Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB and Justin Vernon.

Swift’s last album, Folklore secured her six nominations for the 2021 Grammy awards for categories in the album of the year and song of the year for Cardigan. The video for her song Willow, directed by Swift, will also be released at the same time as Evermore.

https://twitter.com/taylorswift13/status/1337022742646972418

Words: Shravani Chavan | Subbing: Sam Tabahriti

Taylor Swift surprises her fans with her ninth studio album, titled Evermore. Less than five months after dropping the Grammy-nominated album, Folklore, Taylor Swift has now announced her ninth studio album titled, Evermore.
