The heirs of the Italian fashion House have spoken and not in director Ridley Scott\u2019s favour. While audiences seem to appreciate glimpses into celebrities\u2019 misfortunes &#8211; scoring the movie an 83% audience rate on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/house_of_gucci\">Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>, this isn\u2019t the first time directors have been criticised for their narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/MotherGerm\/status\/1467260351360249859\n<\/div><figcaption>fans taking over twitter to share their support for House of Gucci<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The original Gucci family described the recently released film as \u2018painful and insulting\u2019. The movie stars Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, former wife of fashion heir Maurizio Gucci who was convicted of having him assassinated in 1995. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Reggiani herself gave the thumbs up to what she called Gaga\u2019s \u201cgenius\u201d performance, the rest of the portrayed people weren\u2019t as pleased. Photo by Marcus Ganahl<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While no lawsuit has currently been filed, on Monday November 29th the heirs of former Gucci chairman Aldo Gucci threatened to take legal action against Ridley Scott&#8217;s new film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talking about lawsuits, a pretty successful one became everyone\u2019s focus in 2021.
