However, it seems that John Lewis may have a&nbsp;new competitor on the market for \u201cbest Christmas advert\u201d, with JD coming in strong with its star-studded line-up. A total of 32 celebrities&#8217; feature in the two-minute advert, including stars such as<em> KSI, Anthony Joshua, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Central Cee, Ms Banks <\/em>and more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story follows a reluctant teenager, who visits a shopping centre with his family. However, he is then immensely tempted to visit the <em>JD<\/em> arcade by YouTube sensation,<em> Chunkz<\/em>, who entices the &nbsp;young teenager with a massive blue \u201carcade\u201d sign. As he ventures in the video is accompanied by<em> Kano\u2019s <\/em>iconic grime track, \u2018P\u2019s &amp; Q\u2019s\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As he wanders through the \u201cmajestic neon-fuelled games arcade\u201d, the advert follows a host of celebrated London icons, competing with one another, to gain the title of \u201cking of the game\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Played by new up and coming actor <em>Cole Weallean &#8211; Watts, <\/em>who also starred in JD\u2019s 2021 Christmas advert, the advert features celebrities such as: <em>Chunkz, KSI, Tobi Brown, Ethan Matthews, Laurie Elle, Amaria BB, Kojey Radical, Bugzy Malone, ArrDee, Kano and more.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"JD SPORTS CHRISTMAS AD 2022 | KING OF THE GAME\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XQ9FcriyC-U?start=6&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, one may realise that there are many similarities between the 2021 and 2022 Christmas adverts. A celebrity-filled ad is not a new concept&nbsp;to JD, as the 2021 advert has the same approach. With<em> Weallean-Watts <\/em>reprising his role, the advert starts with the young male shopper walking through a snow-filled, \u201cJD Street\u201d, anxiously trying to pick up a last-minute turkey for his mum fo Christmas dinner. However, the teenager is quickly distracted when he bumps into non-other than <em>KSI<\/em>. \u201cDeserve the Finest\u201d by <em>Toddla T<\/em> and <em>Shaybo<\/em> plays whilst he strolls down the street, coming&nbsp;into encounter with several other celebrities such as rappers <em>Little Simz<\/em> and <em>Ms Banks<\/em> who are sharing milkshakes at<strong> <\/strong>\u201cJammy Donuts: King of Shakes &amp; Cakes diner\u201d<em>.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also sees rappers <em>Aitch<\/em> and <em>Shaybo<\/em>, in the Carribbean takeaway next-door<em> <\/em>&#8220;Jerk &amp; Dumplings: King of Flava&#8221;, where <em>Aitch<\/em> even throws him a pattie. He then comes into contact with rappers <em>Central Cee<\/em> and <em>Russ Millions<\/em>, who are on the lookout for mince pies at the grocery store \u201cJuicy &amp;<strong> <\/strong>Delicious: King of Groceries\u201d. Across the street is TV and radio presenter <em>Maya Jama<\/em> and actor and YouTube personality, <em>Michael Dappah<\/em>, who are are \u201crunning\u201d a dog-grooming salon \u2013<strong> \u201c<\/strong>Jama &amp;<em> <\/em>Dapaah: King of Trims\u201d.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other well-known celebrities make appearances as well such: <em>Tobi Brown<\/em>, <em>Young T<\/em> and&nbsp;<em>Bugsey<\/em>, <em>ArrDee<\/em>, <em>Jay 1<\/em>, <em>Jude Bellingham<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/em>, <em>Ebe Eze<\/em>, <em>Kalvin Phillips <\/em>and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WELCOME TO JD STREET | JD SPORTS 2021 CHRISTMAS AD\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sQ_ljcVXnUI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Both adverts share more similarities than one can count \u2013 with both using the same approach and celebrities.
