The Network is truly interdisciplinary and is co-directed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westminster.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/directory\/bolotov-alexander#about\">Dr Alexander Bolotov<\/a> (Copmputer Science and Engineering) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westminster.ac.uk\/about-us\/our-people\/directory\/nadarzynski-tom\">Dr Tom Nadarzynski<\/a> (Social Sciences).<\/p><p><b>Primary Purpose<\/b><\/p><ul><li>Support high-quality, world-leading or internationally excellent AI&amp;Data research, both foundational and in cross-cutting interdisciplinary areas, promoting cross-school and cross-college collaborations and producing high-quality outputs to strengthen Westminster REF2029 submission.<\/li><li>Function as a knowledge base and collaboration hub for projects attracting external funding.<\/li><li>Function as a university-wide AI&amp;Data research hub, not only linking Westminster researchers, often working in remote areas and not visible to each other, but also contributing to the establishment of new partnerships with industry and public sector organisations, thus boosting AI research and knowledge exchange with significant impact.<\/li><li>Reflecting the emerging trends and growing interest in AI&amp;Data research within our PhD research, UG and PG provision supporting research students from diverse backgrounds.<\/li><\/ul><div><b>Membership<\/b>\u00a0<br \/>The membershp is fully inclusive and is open to any Westminster researcher across the University with an established AI expertise or demonstrable interest in AI research.<\/div><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><b>Engagement with the Turing Institute<\/b><\/p><p><span data-teams=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.turing.ac.uk\/about-us\">The Alan Turing Institute<\/a> is the UK\u2019s national institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. In 2023 Westminster joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turing.ac.uk\/turing-university-network\">Turing University Network<\/a> (TUN) becoming one of the 65 TUN members.
