The UniVRse project is funded by the Office for Students. The goal of UniVRse is to develop an intervention to help students feel more confident at university using virtual reality (VR). The UniVRse VR programme is co-designed with university students and combines cutting-edge technology with cognitive behavioural techniques.<\/p>\n\n

Why Virtual Reality?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated simulation of real-world environments. These simulations are viewed using special equipment like a pair of goggles. VR is already being used to deliver therapy for a variety of mental health problems and has been shown to be effective. VR can provoke the same emotional and physiological reactions as if the person was in that situation in real life, meaning that the learning translates to the real world. VR has also been reported to be engaging, cost-effective, and can reduce treatment waiting times for both universities and the NHS.<\/p>\n\n

The UniVRse project has two phases:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n
