My schedule allows my Mondays to be especially relaxed, giving me time to go outside, unwind and enjoy myself before the week of work begins. It’s also a good day to plan which assignments I need to complete and prepare meals for the rest of the week. A great way to start feeling organised and energised.
I head into university for a class at 9am and am there right through until 1pm. Usually, I try to maximise my days by staying at university, not only for classes but also to socialise with friends and complete coursework. Most of my time spent on Cavendish Campus is on the 5th floor and The Hive on the lower ground, my favourite areas for peace and quiet after classes.
A day off from classes, but I keep busy with my work as a Student Ambassador, participating in a wide range of events all around the university, including Open Days, graduations, University fairs and course-specific events. It is always a new experience for each event, getting to talk to people from all kinds of backgrounds and getting to learn about why students are interested in applying to study at Westminster.
A normal Thursday is a free day and this is typically when I work part-time as an administrator for the Student Accommodation team, helping students find accommodation, but also providing them with helpful information about their stays and how they can settle in. I also like a dance or two! This is where The Hideaway in our Regent Campus comes in, which is one of my favourite places to go after a long day – hanging out with friends and grabbing a drink at the on-site bar. A real treat!
A day I reserve for being with friends and family. Importantly, it’s a more casual day for me to relax and go over the week’s occurrences with all the people close to me. It’s a day I look forward to, as I get to care for myself and be surrounded by positivity. As a student, things can seem a bit much at times, so it is nice to have a day that I specifically set aside to enjoy what I have.
Normally, I have a bit more freedom with what I can do; it’s a go-with-the-flow day. Sometimes, I’ll be out in the park enjoying a sunny day or I’ll be inside working on a project or studying for a test; it changes all the time. But I do enjoy the occasional football match, so I do attend when I can, as it holds an important place in my heart.
Sundays are my time to slow down, reflect and reset, but I also like to try something new. Some days that means experimenting with technology; other days it’s getting outside and exploring. One Sunday, I did voice acting for a game I was working on. It was long and repetitive at times, but exciting to try something completely new, and that ended up being the best party of the day.
