Our Policing BA Honours degree has an interdisciplinary focus with insights from law, <\/span>criminology<\/span> and sociology. This will allow you to explore the challenges faced by the <\/span>police, society and different communities and gain the knowledge <\/span>required<\/span> to solve these challenges.<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>

Course leader <\/span>Dr <\/span>Paul Betts has 29 years\u2019 experience in the police, in roles including Detective Chief Superintendent, working across offender management, youth justice and counter <\/span>ter<\/span>rrorism<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span> We are <\/span>well equipped to <\/span>give you valuable insight into a career in the police force.<\/span> We also have strong links with professionals working in the police force, legal sector, <\/span>charities<\/span> and prisons.<\/span> <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>

This course tackles pressing issues in modern day policing, like misogyny and racism, with the aim of preparing you to enter the police force and help bring about change<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span><\/span> to policing in Britain. <\/span>You\u2019ll<\/span> take part in community engagement projects as part of <\/span>your studies<\/span>, allowing you to gain valuable work experience whilst providing important community services and developing new skills.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Not only <\/span>does this<\/span> course <\/span><\/span>meet the benchmarking standards of the College of Policing, allowing you progress onto the degree holder entry <\/span>programme<\/span>, but it also allows you to keep your career options open if you may be interested in pursuing a career in law. By taking specific <\/span>option<\/span> modules throughout the degree, <\/span>this course includes a route to take the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) for entry into the legal profession. <\/span>You\u2019ll<\/span> also gain the skills <\/span>required<\/span> for a career in related fields such as <\/span>the prison<\/span> or probation <\/span>service<\/span><\/span>s<\/span><\/span><\/span>, <\/span>investigation and reg<\/span>ulatory roles, <\/span>c<\/span>harities<\/span> and <\/span>civil<\/span> service.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
