Which hall did you live in and what was it like?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
I lived in Harrow Hall.\u00a0It was a\u00a0pretty small\u00a0room with hardwood floors and a small but very convenient bathroom. There was a shared kitchen space, which was cleaned bi-weekly.\u00a0<\/em>The room had a comfortable bed, a desk with a chair and overhead lights – the lights in my room were even dimmable. The large closets offered a lot of storage space. There was also a vacuum cleaner I could borrow during the day and return to reception.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

How did it feel moving into\u00a0uni\u00a0accommodation for the first time?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
Honestly, it was surreal. Since I worked two jobs at the university, living in\u00a0the\u00a0halls was the most convenient\u00a0option. I was a second-year student living in halls and had the most nerves when I was the first one to walk into my flat,\u00a0but I felt so at home. Everyone was so friendly, and the on-campus cat we have (Batman!)\u00a0definitely made\u00a0the move-in process better.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0your favourite memory from living in halls?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
One night, my friend rang me and told me to come to his flat because he was making dinner. My whole friend group\u00a0–\u00a0who\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0met on campus\u00a0–\u00a0were all huddled in his kitchen while he cooked for us. After dinner, we had an amazing night just sitting around, listening to one friend play the guitar and another play his DJ set.\u00a0We were all singing and laughing; it was the calmest and most at-home feeling\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0ever had during my time at university.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0one thing you wish\u00a0you\u2019d\u00a0known before moving in?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
Even if you feel homesick during the first week, or\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0meet people you \u2018click\u2019 with right away,\u00a0please\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0stress out. I met my people through a friend on a random afternoon, days after I moved in. They invited me to a karaoke bar one night, and that\u2019s where things clicked.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

A lot of students expect to bond with flatmates immediately and have a friend group overnight, but everyone\u2019s experience is different. Don\u2019t be discouraged if things don\u2019t go exactly how you hoped. This is just the beginning.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Any surprises about shared living? How did you adjust?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
I\u2019d heard horror stories about messy kitchens and unwashed dishes, but\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0not always true. If you set ground rules, are friendly with your flatmates, and make a group chat to communicate, everyone tends to be respectful.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0all about building and keeping good relationships!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

How did you meet people and make friends in halls?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
The common room! I went there with one of my flatmates (since we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0know anyone else) and we ended up challenging two music students to a game of pool. Later, we met the rest of their group and went to a nearby karaoke bar.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Also, the university-organised events are amazing for socialising\u00a0–\u00a0Messy Mondays, Drag Karaoke, Sip\u00a0and\u00a0Paint… Trust me, everyone is nervous at first.\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0not alone. Just remember\u00a0–\u00a0the world is big, and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0really not\u00a0that deep!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Do you have a favourite spot in your room or building? What makes it special?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0
The common room became one of my favourite spots. We celebrated birthdays, hosted events, had game nights,\u00a0and so much more there. It also has a PlayStation and Wii if video games are your thing.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Another great spot is the grassy stretch outside Harrow Campus. So many nights were spent lying on the grass, looking up at the stars.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Which hall did you live in and what was it like?<\/strong><\/p>

I\u00a0lived in Olympic Way in Wembley. It was a shared flat with other students from Westminster, including people from the Business School and the School of Arts. It was a great mix and I really enjoyed getting to know people from different backgrounds. It helped me feel part of a community right away.<\/em><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0your favourite memory from living in halls?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

We had a table tennis tournament that was a blast. I nearly made it to the finals, which was unexpected and exciting. It was\u00a0a great way\u00a0to bond with others, and the facilities were genuinely impressive.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

How did you meet people and make friends in halls?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The\u00a0common area\u00a0on the first floor\u00a0was\u00a0a great place\u00a0to meet people.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0a gym and some games, which made it easy to start conversations and connect with others. Just being open and showing up helped a lot.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Do you have a favourite spot in your room or building? What makes it special?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Yes, the deck on the 18th floor. It has an amazing view of Wembley Park and the stadium.\u00a0I\u2019d\u00a0often go there to relax, especially during sunset. It became my little escape.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

What\u2019s\u00a0your to<\/strong>p tip for new students moving into accommodation?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Be open to meeting people and enjoy the experience.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a unique time in your life, so make the most of it.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
