We’re excited to announce that Zone29, the University of Westminster’s new home for careers, enterprise and external collaboration, is now open – and we’re inviting our alumni community to be part of it.
Located at the heart of our London campuses, Zone29 is a vibrant, flexible space designed to connect students, graduates and alumni with the wider world of work. It brings together teaching, careers support, entrepreneurship and industry engagement under one roof, creating a place where learning meets real‑world experience.
A space built for collaboration
Zone29 isn’t a traditional teaching building. Instead, it is a professional space that has been designed for collaboration, creativity and conversation. The building includes rooms for workshops, talks, panel discussions, group projects, exhibitions and networking. Plus, digital facilities such as podcast studios, which are set to open soon.
This makes Zone29 an ideal setting for alumni to share insights and expertise with students and recent graduates, supporting their career development and helping them secure jobs.
How alumni can get involved
There are lots of ways alumni can engage with Zone29, depending on your interests and availability. You might choose to:
- Speak or take part in a panel to share your career journey or sector insights
- Host or support a workshop focused on careers, enterprise or professional skills
- Mentor students or graduates, either one‑to‑one or in small groups
- Get involved in live projects, challenges or hackathons, helping students tackle real‑world briefs
- Network with other alumni, employers and University colleagues at events hosted in the space
We’re particularly keen to involve alumni from across our global community and from all professional backgrounds, so that students can learn from a broad range of perspectives and career paths.
Supporting students’ futures
Zone29 plays a key role in helping students build confidence, skills and experience alongside their studies – ensuring they are work-ready. Many of the activities taking place in the space support career exploration or help students to develop entrepreneurial ideas and start their own business.
By engaging with Zone29, alumni are helping students prepare for life after graduation while also strengthening the University’s links with industry, business and community partners.
