Call for Papers: Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship

The third Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship Conference takes place on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July at the University of Sheffield and contributions are invited from teaching-focused academics sharing their practice and experiences of collaborative teaching.

There is significant evidence to suggest that collaborative teaching enhances the student learning experience. Collaboration can take many forms and operate on many levels. From peer-assisted learning approaches within (or external to) flipped classrooms, through innovation through partnership with students, to partnering with industry, higher education in the UK has many exemplars of excellent practice.

Alongside regular talks, there will also have a dedicated workshop parallel session, and welcome workshop proposals which share best practice and give participants a set of real world skills they can put into action in their own teaching. We will also have a dedicated workshop session on getting your paper published for those publishing with the area of practioner-led education for the first time.

Contributions are invited on the role of collaborative learning in the following topics:
• Peer to Peer Learning
• Working with Students as Partners
• Collaborating with internal partners to enhance learning
• Learning through external engagement

We also welcome contributions to our standing session on the role and identity of teaching-focused academics in UK Universities. Contributions may take the form of:
• Talks (20 mins (15 + 5 mins for questions)
• Short Talks (5 mins)
• Workshop (90 mins)

For further details and to submit abstract proposals visit the conference website.

Registration opened in February and the call for papers closes on 21 April.
