I-BEE provides colleagues a recognised network and a community of practice to validate your pedagogic interests and is a forum to support your career progression on a teaching and learning pathway.

Areas of Focus:

Colleagues across WBS will have varied areas of interest on pedagogy. The network will be open to all these colleagues. However, in order to make clear progress in areas that are key to our strategic priorities, the following form the key areas of focus for the first two years.

Developing a future ready work force

This will include embedding a range of skills and experiences within the curriculum to provide our students with employability skills. Employability skills here is taken to encompass discipline specific skills and attributes, SDGs, digital skills including AI, etc.  This theme fits within the key pillar of purposeful learning and assessments as per our Westminster Education Strategy.

Compassionate pedagogy

This is aimed at inclusive education for all, reducing alienation and fostering a sense of belonging which will drive our work on reducing student success gaps. This also fits in with the pillar of personalisation as per our Westminster Education Strategy.

Enhancing student engagement

This is expressed as a clear area of concern by academic colleagues and has an impact on student success. It will explore ways in which active learning and teaching can enhance student engagement and fits in with the key pillar of authentic as per our Westminster Education Strategy.
