It was prepared by the Real Estate Market Advisory Group at the request of the Working Party on Land Administration and the Committee of Housing and Land Management of the Economic Commission for Europe. This draft will be revised based on comments by the Committee and other stakeholders.

The talents and assets of London’s smaller housing associations are vital to tackling the capital’s housing crisis, according to a new report commissioned by g320, the representative body for smaller housing associations across London. The report calls for improved collaboration between larger and smaller associations and a recognition that smaller, more specialist, providers have unique strengths to offer.

Academics at Sheffield Hallam University have conducted a nine-month study into the economic impact of the affordable housing sector in the north of England. This report measures economic activity stimulated directly by the day-to-day activities of housing organisations, as well as additional activity generated indirectly through the intermediate supply chain.

At this event over 1,200 leaders from the emergency response, scientific, policy, conservation, and business communities, as well as federal and local government officials, met to address themes such as cascading disasters, the intersection of the built and natural environments, disasters as mechanisms of ecosystem change, rethinking recovery and expanding the vision of mitigation, human behavior and its consequences. Designing for future climate change: Lessons learned from developing an Adaptation Strategy

A recently completed collaborative research project undertaken by BRE Wales and South West for the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) was aimed at devising a commercially viable, climate change adaptation strategy for a high-density office building. This Information Paper shares the knowledge gained through this project, and will help building designers and commercial tenants to understand the likely impacts of climate change and how these impacts can be managed through the development of an effective building strategy. The paper costs £15.

The Social Housing district Z.E.N. in Palermo has been described as one of the most dangerous and “criminogenic” neighbourhoods in Italy. This paper presents the problems and the articulation of the project for the urban regeneration of an inhuman social housing district into a healthy place, a kind of project to be considered a pilot project for the regeneration of all the dangerous and unliveable suburbs, as well as for reinvigorating local economies.
