Green Deal assessment tools

BRE has released two new versions of the green deal assessment tools it has developed for the Department of Energy and Climate Change. The tools enable qualified green deal assessors to evaluate the energy savings resulting from the installation of one or more efficiency measures and to create and lodge reports on the national registry. The tool for dwellings is based on the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP). The green deal variant, Green Deal Occupancy Assessment Tool, can be used for carrying out an occupancy assessment following the creation of an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The report generated can then be used to form the basis of an agreement between a householder and green deal provider on the efficiency measures to be implemented. A similar tool can be downloaded for non-domestic buildings and is the only tool currently available for carrying out assessments in commercial premises.
