Honest Buildings Network

The Honest Buildings real estate network, a USA-based online data sharing portal, was officially launched in the UK on 27 February 2013. BRE Global, which has partnered with Honest Buildings to bring greater transparency to UK commercial real estate, will display environmental performance details of thousands of BREEAM certified buildings on the network. Honest Buildings entered the UK market last year and already provides information on 9,500 commercial properties. The site provides details of building information, solution providers and partnering opportunities, as well as a showcase for buildings and projects.

In particular, based on a case study in Tokyo and Yokohama, this paper discusses the most common green technologies and measures used in the Japanese building sector, quantifies the major environmental benefits of the case study buildings, and highlights the opportunities and barriers to promote the construction of green buildings in Japanese cities.
