Community Infrastructure Levy Update and Stocktake seminars

During February and March 2013 the Planning Advisory Service delivered a national seminar series relating to the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). The objectives of the seminars were to allow local authorities to better understand: what is required to produce a charging schedule that will succeed at examination; the amended regulations and guidance, in practice and what the changes mean for in their production of a CIL; the level of evidence required for the examination, in terms of both viability and infrastructure; and the relationship between section 106 and CIL, and the issues and decisions that will be required in developing their approach to infrastructure delivery using section106 and CIL. Presentations from the events are available online. Links are also available to other relevant materials, including legislation and guidance.

Probity in planning for councilors and officers

This guide will help councillors understand their roles and responsibilities, and how to make sure they can be an effective councillor without getting into ‘probity’ difficulties.
