The argument that underpins the 600-page volume is that people, human behaviour and societies need to be at the heart of all attempts to tackle the challenges of environmental change and phenomena studied by the natural sciences.

e-architect is one of the world’s largest architecture websites with around 17,000 pages. The principal difference between e-architect and other architecture sites is that it does not just carry news: on e-architect buildings can be searched by country, city or by type. You can also search for buildings by architect. The website features building news, events, competitions, photos, jobs, awards and products., and a range of building types from houses to skyscrapers, plus major landscape and interior projects.

The webinars continue conversations initiated at the Congress, held in the summer of 2013, and look ahead to new directions and innovations in 2014. LIFE is the EU’s financial instrument supporting environmental and nature conservation projects throughout the EU. The first part of the 16-page publication concerns LIFE Environment projects, focusing on water resource management, wastewater treatment, and the recycling and reuse of industrial waste materials. The second part of the Thematic Issue looks at LIFE Nature projects that have benefitted species and habitats within the EU Natura 2000 network of nature reserves. Peer-reviewed research publications arising from 10 LIFE co-funded projects are used to illustrate the range of contributions LIFE projects make to environmental policy.
