The GfK Anholt Nations Brand Index is an annual study amongst 20,000 consumers in 20 panel countries around the world. Respondents score 50 nations, including the UK, on a raft of attributes including some relating to tourism, culture and welcome. The January 2014 issue of VisitBritain’s Foresight publication examines the findings for the UK.

Co-organised by the Bridging the Gap (BtG) and the Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT), the Transport Day is designed to bring together experts and Parties to facilitate discussions on how land transport can play a more visible role in a post-2015 era. Four streams of break-out sessions are: Mitigation Potential of Transport Sector; Policymaking on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport in the Developing World; Ensuring Effective Transport NAMAs; Integrating Adaptation in Transport Policies, and Financing of Sustainable Low Carbon Transport. The first round of calls under the Smart, Green and Integrated Transport challenge of the new Horizon 2020 Framework Programme will be published at the end of the year. To support the preparation of proposals, the Transport Directorate of the European Commission’s Research and Innovation Directorate-General is organising an Information Day on 18 December 2013from 9 AM till 6 PM in the Charlemagne building, rue de la Loi 170, Brussels. The aim of the day is to inform potential participants in the first round of calls under the Smart, Green and Integrated Transport Challenge of the new Horizon 2020 Framework Programme and to offer some unique opportunities for networking.
