BoB (Box of Broadcasts) National is an innovative shared online off-air TV and radio recording service for UK higher and further education institutions. BoB enables all staff and students in subscribing institutions to choose and record any broadcast programme from 60+ TV and radio channels. The recorded programmes are then kept indefinitely (no expiry) and added to a growing media archive (currently at over 1 million programmes), with all content shared by users across all subscribing institutions. A series of webinars is scheduled in the coming term covering all aspects of BoB National, including a broad introduction to the main aspects of the service.  There will also be 30 minute webinars covering specific aspects of BoB, including the best way to embed clips, tips for discovering content and more information for admins.

NBS is to take forward the development of the BIM toolkit. This digital toolkit for BIM has the potential to transform the procurement of buildings and infrastructure. Free to use, the BIM toolkit will make available a digital plan of work and a classification system which incorporates definitions for over 5,000 construction objects at each of the delivery stages throughout the life of a built environment asset. It is a vital part of the jigsaw required to reach level 2 BIM by 2016. NBS will be posting updates and news on this site keeping enabling the entire construction industry to be engaged and involved in this important development.
