TCPA New Communities Group

The New Communities Group (NCG) was set up in 2009 by the Town & Country Planning Association. The group consists of local authorities, key delivery bodies and other groups bringing forward large-scale sustainable developments of different models; from Garden City inspired new towns and villages to urban regeneration and extension schemes. The group helps to develop their proposals, embed ambitious sustainability standards and encourage a sharing of knowledge and best practice between the different sites. Together the group is providing innovative local leadership for plans delivering in the region of 60,000 homes.
CIC 2050 Group Construction Industry Survey 2014

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) 2050 Group has published the results of its national online survey, carried out in February and March this year, to find out if people are satisfied working in the industry and what inspires them. It sought views on four key themes: Attitudes to the industry; Progress on sustainability; Social media; Innovation.

Central London Quarterly Report: 3rd quarter 2014

Take-up of office space in the Capital reached 4.6 m sq ft during the third quarter of 2014, the highest level since 2007, and 45% above the long-term average. The City, in particular, saw levels total over 3.0 m sq ft, a level not seen since 2000. According to Knight Frank’s Central London Quarterly report, the figures revealed that during the third quarter of 2014, the leasing and investment markets across Central London continued to show confident market conditions. Both markets saw an increase in activity, specifically the leasing market showing a particularly strong quarter.
Ultra Low Emission Zone for London

The Mayor of London and Transport for London have launched a public consultation on proposals to introduce the world’s first Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in the capital on 7 September 2020, to significantly improve air quality and in turn the health of Londoners. Comments are requested by 9 January 2015.

During 2013 Steer Davies Gleave was involved with 20 LSTF projects, including six household based Personalised Travel Planning (PTP) projects, three workplace travel planning projects, and seven web-based journey planners. The primary aim of this publication is to share the key lessons learnt and begin the conversation about how to ensure these lessons are applied to current and future projects.
