The government’s proposed road improvement programme will benefit the logistics market in many parts of the UK by unlocking hundreds of hectares of development land and encouraging rental growth, according to new research released by national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton. However, the authors argue that there is a need to widen the scope of the road improvement works to tackle congestion and improve the efficiency of the UK’s logistics operations.

The Construction Products Association (CPA) has released a new report which is the second in a series of projects that the CPA is contributing to support the Industrial Strategy for Construction, seeks to understand the economic, political and regulatory risks that may be influencing investment, showcases examples of policies with positive and negative impacts, and advises on a best practice approach to regulation and policy. The report also features results of two surveys of CPA and industry executives regarding both the impact of energy costs, supply and security on investment and their views towards specific policies, such as Part L, the National Infrastructure Plan, Help to Buy, the Energy Company Obligation, Green Deal and the EU Emissions Trading System.
