Future State 2030: Spotlight on urbanization

Following the launch of the Future State 2030 report in 2013, KPMG’s Global Government & Public Sector practice continues the conversation with Future State Spotlight. This series will take a closer look at the challenges and opportunities that governments face as they head into 2030 and present insights from KPMG experts around the world. The first articles in the series first article explores how governments can strike the right balance between rural areas and urban centers in the developing world to create environments of inclusivity. While urbanization drives the economies of these emerging countries it can also result in poorly planned and connected urban environments, marginalizing large segments of the population.
