This event provided a showcase for projects funded during the two phases of the Technology Strategy Board Design for Future Climate: Adapting Buildings competition. It provided an overview of why adaptation is important and showcased the challenges and opportunities that are available to built environment professionals, clients, decision makers and local authorities. The presenters highlighted the innovative solutions they have developed to adapt their buildings in terms of comfort (e.g. management of internal temperatures), construction (e.g. stability of foundations in changing ground conditions) and water management (e.g. increasing resilience to flooding).
