This new publication from CIRCLE-2, a European network for research and co-operation on climate change, makes recommendations for better approaches to science-policy-practice working. Recommendations in the briefing note are drawn from a literature review, as well as the outcomes of working sessions at the European Climate Change Adaptation conference in Hamburg in 2013.

In this report, London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) explores the impact of the undersupply of housing on London businesses and the capital’s overall competitiveness and proposes measures to alleviate the housing crisis. LCCI concludes the way to overcome the current barriers to house building is to secure more land for development and more builders with the capacity to deliver homes in London.

The latest edition of Lambert Smith Hampton’s annual Office Market Review predicts that take-up across the UK could reach 30m sq ft this year, despite preliminary figures revealing that 2014 got off to slow start. The report finds that take-up in 2013 increased by 33% to 25.6m sq ft, the highest level since 2007. This activity is being driven by businesses seeking additional space for expansion as well as the natural turnover created by occupiers reaching the end of their leases within obsolete stock. The authors expect Central London and the larger regional markets such as Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and the Thames Valley to be the main beneficiaries of growth during 2014.

This report summarises the 2012-13 results based on visits to 99 schemes and interviews with over 200 residents.
City views: How to British cities see London?

In a bid to gauge the state of the venue/organiser relationship, Exhibition News and Vivid Interface conducted a research project that asked organisers to rate the services provided by their venues, and outline their concerns and wish lists. One of the cornerstones of the approach was whether venues are looked at as mere spaces in which organisers provide all the intelligence, or if the two are working increasingly in partnership.
