Sector resilience plans set out the resilience of the UK’s most important infrastructure to the relevant risks identified in the National Risk Assessment. Produced annually, plans are given to ministers to alert them to any perceived vulnerabilities, with a programme of measures to improve resilience where necessary.

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the South Sinai Governorate and the League of Arab States (LAS) organized this conference. Adhering to the outcomes of the first Arab Conference for DRR, held in Aqaba (Jordan) in March 2013, the 2nd Arab Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) provided a forum for Arab governments, policy makers, planners, academia, civil society and development experts to discuss disaster risk reduction in the region. The Conference highlighted the progress of disaster risk reduction efforts and review the implementation of the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 in the Arab region. It also aimed to shape regional priorities towards the successor framework for disaster risk reduction beyond 2015. Presentations and background information are available online.
ICLEI ACCCRN Process

This toolkit has been developed by ICLEI South East Asia and Oceania offices and draws on the experience from the original Asian Cities Climate Change Resilient Network (ACCCRN) cities, combined with elements of existing ICLEI approaches. The toolkit is targeted at city governments and their role in catalyzing community building. It enables local governments to assess their climate risks, formulate and implement corresponding resilience strategies. The toolkit was tested in three Indian cities, and subsequently used in a range of cities in Indonesia, Bangladesh, the Philippines and India.
