Ahead of the climate change summit to be held in Paris in 2015, A distillation of the major findings of the fifth assessment report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has been published. Known as The Synthesis Report, the document pulls together all the various strands of the different AR5 documents published by the IPCC over the last year or so. Chinese cash is surging into foreign properties, driven by economic forces and evolving business strategies in China and abroad. China, the world’s second-largest economy, is now the world’s third-largest source of outbound direct investment and has emerged as a major player in global real estate markets. According to data analyzed by Cushman &Wakefield, Chinese outbound real estate investment reached a total of about US$33.7 billion in the period from 2008 to June 2014, growing more than 200-fold during that time. What is driving this outbound surge? Where are Chinese property investors going, and how are they investing?
Building the resilience of small states: A revised framework

The Commonwealth resilience framework has been developed to identify both the national policies required to build resilience and the areas in which regional and international development partners can provide support. This study refines and expands the framework to cover areas such as governance, environmental management and social development. It proposes policy measures for building resilience and ways in which the resilience framework for small states can be embedded in national planning to help stakeholders to agree priority areas for policy intervention.
