The Carbon Disclosure project (CDP) has released a new report that offers lessons for urban planners and policy makers from seven European cities that are leading on climate change adaptation.  As well as target setting, the report identifies and examines six other key areas where European cities are demonstrating best practice to manage climate change.

With over 70% of visitors to the Olympic Park passing through Stratford City, Westfield had to reduce their original delivery programme from ten to six years. In this video Westfield’s Design Director, Simon Cochrane, looks at the challenges and demands placed on the project, how the interior design concept was delivered and why Westfield chose to work with partners like SAS International.

An assessment of the effects of conservation areas on value

In 2012 English Heritage commissioned the London School of Economics (LSE) to undertake research into the effects of conservation areas on value. A statistical analysis of more than 1 million property transactions between 1995 and 2010 from the Nationwide building society and data on more than 8,000 English conservation areas found that properties in conservation areas sell for 23% more on average than houses outside conservation areas. Even when location, the kind of properties involved and other factors affecting house prices are adjusted for a premium of around 9% was still found.
