Personal commitment far outweighs regulations, client demands and company policies as the main driver of sustainability, according to the latest Sustainability Report published by NBS. Sustainability’s battle for hearts and minds across the UK construction industry appears to be won, with this second NBS survey of consultants, clients and contractors finding that almost four fifths consider personal beliefs and values as their primary motivation for delivering sustainable buildings.

This article describes the house price index (HPI) in the euro area and the European Union (EU), presenting data on this indicator both at European and Member State level. It also provides examples of possible use of this indicator in relation to other statistics, such as consumer price indices, rent price indices and household disposable income. Count Us In explored how housing associations can help their residents use energy more efficiently through simple changes in their behavior. As part of the project, the National Housing Federation worked with a number of housing associations who ran pilots testing different ways of working with residents. The Federation has published the main findings from the Count Us In project. The report also sets out recommendations for housing associations wishing to deliver effective engagement activity at scale.
