The Asia-Pacific Housing Forum is a biennial conference organized by Habitat for Humanity International. The forum gathers public, private and people sector stakeholders engaged in seeking solutions to poverty housing issues. The Fourth Asia Pacific Housing Forum seeks to achieve the following objectives: Raise awareness in Asia-Pacific about the benefits and outcomes of providing housing to underprivileged families (housing is not just a roof, it breaks the poverty cycle); Collaborate with other likeminded partners to advance the cause of adequate, affordable housing; Showcase creative market approaches and innovative solutions that increase products, services & financing for affordable housing; Promote policies & systems that advance access to adequate, affordable housing. The Priority Estates Project (PEP) has launched a new website. PEP is an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides training and consultancy to the social housing sector and has been doing so for nearly 30 years. PEP works with residents, social landlords, councils, local government, tenant management organisations, regeneration organisations and other service providers and with communities as a whole.  PEP is committed to creating cohesive, sustainable communities  and tackling social and economic exclusion.

Help to Buy (equity loan) scheme and NewBuy statistics: April 2013 to September 2013

This statistical release presents official statistics on the number of home purchases and the value of equity loans under the government Help to Buy equity loan scheme, as well as the number of purchases under the government’s NewBuy scheme. It does not cover statistics regarding the Help to Buy mortgage guarantee scheme. This is the first release concerning Help to Buy equity loan statistics. The figures presented in this release cover the first 6 months of the scheme, from the launch of the scheme on 1 April 2013 until 30 September 2013.

Strong Foundations: Building better dialogue between tenants and landlords

This is the final report of a Local Government Information Unit project, supported by the Mears Group, which looked at how social landlords are engaging with their tenants on the ground. The project surveyed and interviewed registered social landlords, ALMOs and retained stock authorities. The findings are presented in the report and drawing on this research the report makes four broad practical recommendations that social landlords should consider in shaping more proactive conversations with their tenants.

Experiences and effects of the benefit cap in Haringey

This report presents early lessons from Haringey, one of the first areas to implement the benefit cap.
