This report summarises key trends in London’s housing market, including prices, affordability, repossessions and new housing construction. The data presented is the latest available as of mid August 2012, and the report should be read with the caveat that changes in the housing market can take time to show up in published data. Where possible, comparisons are made between trends in London and the rest of the country, as national trends may mask significant regional differences. It has published a report, supported by EDF Energy, which warns that London faces a big challenge to make the most of the Government’s new approach to improving energy efficiency through the Green Deal and ECO programmes. The report also emphasises the critical role London boroughs will play in delivering the forthcoming Green Deal, and recommends that they play an active role in supporting the scheme. It also outlines ways in which boroughs could encourage consumer demand for the Green Deal.
