Deriving from the most comprehensive statistical database available on the tourism sector, the Compendium of Tourism Statistics provides statistical data and indicators on inbound, outbound and domestic tourism, as well as on the number and types of tourism industries, the number of employees by tourism industries, and macroeconomic indicators related to international tourism. The 2014 edition presents data for 203 countries from 2008 to 2012.

Great China Welcome

In mid-March 2014, VistBritain is to launch the GREAT China Welcome to show the world that the UK is ‘China-ready’. It will also help signpost Chinese visitors and travel intermediaries towards appropriate hotels, shops, tours and attractions. Part of this initiative will involve publication of a toolkit containing insights, statistics, guidance and case studies, the web pages will also advise on marketing to and within China, and common do’s and don’ts. Resources already available include statistics on the Chinese market.
