London’s Best Local Art Experiences

London holds some of the most historic and valuable art pieces in the world. But beyond the Van Gogh’s, da Vinci’s, and Monet’s, the work from local artists adds a new beauty to the city’s art portfolio and has developed London’s art culture into what it is today.

Here are some unique art experiences that you can take part in to support London’s local artists.

The Other Art Fair

The Other Art Fair will travel to London from June 30-July 3 to showcase pieces from 140 independent artists. The fair will take place at West Handyside Canopy, King’s Cross, and will include unique and immersive exhibitions, along with musical performances. You can buy tickets on The Other Art Fair website and scroll through a list of the artist profiles.

Camden Street Art

You don’t need to go to any museum or exhibition to experience beautiful art; it is quite literally painted on the walls of the city. There are many locations to experience unique pieces of street art, with some of the most vibrant in Camden. If you want a more structured experience, you can take part in a two hour guided walking tour. Time slots are available on the Camden Street Art Tours website.

Leicester Square Street Performing

One of the leading drama schools in the city is the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), which holds productions and events that are open to the public. You can find information about upcoming performances on the RADA website.

London Gallery West; University of Westminster

Many universities offer art galleries that highlight the work of current and past students. The University of Westminster holds the London Gallery West at its Harrow Campus, which has been open to the public since 2003 and showcases student work along with pieces from other local artists. The gallery is currently closed, but you can check the University of Westminster website for updates.
