The Museum of the Moon, a travelling exhibition, will return to the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London on 13 December 2022.

Museum of the Moon is a travelling sculpture designed by British artist Luke Jerram. The sculpture is nearly 7 metres in diameter and is internally illuminated with detailed 120dpi images of the lunar surface from NASA, allowing people to see the surface of the moon up close. The installation incorporates lunar imagery, moonlight, and surrounding sounds, created by BAFTA, Ivor Novello and award-winning composer Dan Jones.

The exhibition will be displayed in many different ways, both indoors and outdoors, to provide a better experience and interpretation. As it travels from place to place, it will gather new musical compositions and an ongoing collection of personal reactions, stories, and myths; and highlight the latest findings in lunar science.

To celebrate the opening of the Moon Museum in the Painted Hall, the Old Royal Naval College has planned a program of events for visitors, including Lunar Lates, Social Media Mondays, Moonlight Dining Experience, Santa’s Over the Moon and many more.
