If you are considering studying one of our computer science and engineering courses, we’re excited for you to start your journey with us. We want to make your transition to student life as easy as possible, so in this article, we’ve outlined some of the key facts about us.
Our location – right in the heart of London
Our School of Computer Science and Engineering is based in central London, just steps away from some of the most stunning buildings, museums, cafes and restaurants. Our fantastic location means that you will have plenty of opportunities to get the most out of the city life while studying with us. You’ll be based at our Cavendish Campus in central London. Our location means that you’ll be perfectly placed to take advantage of career and collaboration opportunities in the city – a major technology hub.
“Academically, being in London provides access to a wealth of resources, internships, and technical events. The city’s diversity has also allowed me to meet people from all over the world, which has enriched my university experience tremendously.” Bola Majekodunmi – Software Engineering with Electronics BEng, 2026
Outstanding facilities
We have carried out three million pounds of investment over the last couple of years in our facilities to provide our students with the best possible environment to support their learning. These include specialist laboratories, smart computer systems and some of the latest technology solutions to ensure students have access to all the necessary tools they need to kick start their careers.
Our industry-leading facilities include over 30 labs for computer games, hardware, forensics, VR, and Immersive development. We offer a range of software (Linux/UNIX, Windows 10, Mac OSX, UE and Unity including DevKits), along with VR hardware and specialist cyber security and forensics packages.
“One of the most notable facilities associated with my course is our state-of-the-art VR lab. This facility has motion capture technology, expansive screens, and a diverse array of gaming headsets and equipment essential for mastering VR development. The immersive nature of the VR lab enhances our learning experience, providing practical insights into working with virtual reality.
Additionally, our computer labs stand out as another facility. They are all new and equipped with high-speed computers, comfortable seating, and amazing interiors. The labs create an optimal environment for our coursework. We work with computers on our course pretty much all the time, so it’s important for us to feel comfortable and enjoy our environment while working on our projects.” Agata Berent – Computer Games Development BSc, 2025

Industry experience
Our strong industry connections ensure our courses and curriculum stay aligned with the ever-changing technological landscape, preparing students for real-world challenges and opportunities.
Led by experienced academics and industry professionals, our teaching team brings a wealth of expertise to your learning journey. Practical, hands-on learning lies at the heart of our courses, with employability and enterprise seamlessly integrated into modules. Tasks and problem-solving exercises are designed to mirror real-world scenarios, and live briefs and industry collaborations further equip students with the skills needed to excel in the professional games industry.
Students can also gain invaluable industry experience by opting for a placement year, enhancing their skills and employability before graduation. Students also have access to additional opportunities to strengthen their portfolios and build professional networks through industry events, game jams, and competitions.
“My course played a crucial role in preparing me for the placement. When I read the job description, it felt very similar to the content of our modules. Much of my work involved applying the skills I had learned in class, often to new data or different software, but fundamentally relying on the same techniques for handling and transforming data. The context was new, but the foundations were the same.” Amirreza Nozari Zarmehri – Data Science and Analytics BSc, 2026
