The university has recently published new guidance for students on using generative AI in their studies. The guidance encourages them to engage with generative AI in their independent, non-assessed work and suggests various ways they can do this. The guidance also details the pros and cons of using generative AI and what they must do if they use generative AI to help with any assessed work that they complete.
For further help, tips and suggestions about using generative AI for students, please share these online resources, which include a set of frequently asked questions, a video overview about the guidance and links to online courses which will help students better understand generative AI and its potential in learning and the workplace.
If students have specific questions about generative AI for any specific assessment, they are advised to speak to the academic colleagues who teach them or their personal tutor. They can also email ai-help@westminster.ac.uk if they have general AI-related queries.
