Dear Alumni,
Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed a good break over the festive period, and I send you and your loved ones all best wishes for 2026.
It is great to be back and feel energised by the array of events and activities taking place as students return to campus.
Earlier this month I had the great pleasure of welcoming our new international students, Study Abroad and Exchange students. I’m sure many of you, as international graduates, remember coming to London for the first time and experiencing our fantastic city as the backdrop to your studies.
Each session opened with the students themselves sharing where they come from – countries in Africa, South and Central America, and Europe, as well as the USA, Canada, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and more. We are a truly global University, and it was lovely to see students coming together, friendships being built and different cultural perspectives being shared. Our international outlook is such a strength, and I am heartened knowing that these students will one day follow in your footsteps as exceptional global citizens.
Looking forward to spring, our new home of careers and enterprise Zone29 will open its doors. A real positive for the University as we work to provide a place to connect our students with employers while significant shifts and changes are taking place in the graduate jobs landscape.
This exciting new space will also offer a wide range of benefits for alumni. I encourage you to get involved with the activities at Zone29 to inspire students and make a meaningful impact, while gaining valuable experience for your own career. There are countless ways to share your expertise and gain fresh perspectives and enthusiasm from our brilliant students in return.
I am so grateful to those of you who already play an active role in our community. Your willingness to give your time, share your experiences, and champion our students makes a real and lasting difference. Whether you contribute through mentoring, speaking at events, offering work experience, or simply staying connected, your dedication strengthens the Westminster network and inspires the next generation to thrive.
I am so looking forward to working together to further our positive impacts in 2026.
Let’s Go Westminster! 🐉
All best wishes,
Peter
