This Academic Professional Development course is for anyone who teaches or supports learning at Westminster. It is delivered in immersive, experiential and active learning mode.
About the course
This course provides participants with the fundamental capabilities required in the contemporary HE classroom. It utilises experiential and practical learning techniques to help colleagues to understand and deploy active learning.
How will it benefit you?
The course focuses on Reflective Practice and supports colleagues who are developing their practice whilst teaching. You will be invited to experiment with a range of approaches, feedback and assessment practices as well as authentic and collaborative tasks. The course offers a unique opportunity to make connections with new colleagues in a supportive and engaging environment.
Who is it for?
The Teaching at Westminster course is designed primarily for colleagues who are new to teaching or who have recently joined higher education from other professional realms. However, it also serves as a useful refresher for those who have been teaching for some time, or who perhaps have lectured at other institutions and want to understand the ‘Westminster way’.
Will I be assessed and is it accredited?
The workshop series is automatically recorded as CPD.
