The Westminster Genome Health Hub is a Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) that brings together academics and students from different disciplines at the University of Westminster to investigate genome health in urban environments. We work in partnership with the Genome Health Foundation Australia and invite local community groups across London to participate in this work.
Our work is inspired by three of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals:
Our aim is to create a holistic and integrated understanding of genome health by conducting transdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange that integrates the biomedical, environmental and social determinants of DNA integrity and stability. We are committed to working in partnership across disciplines and with a range of stakeholders to:
Developtools and approaches for biomonitoring of DNA integrity and stability to improve lifelong health and prevent noncommunicable diseases;
Develop recommendations for the built environment to promote healthier cities and reduce health inequalities;
Develop personalised medical, dietary, behavioural and psychoeducational interventions for sustained genome health.
