The strategic case for HS2

The government has published its Strategic case for HS2, presenting a large amount of background research to explain step-by-step why HS2 is the best solution to meet the capacity and connectivity challenges faced by the rail network. Research is being published by DfT alongside the āStrategic caseā and includes reports on rail alternatives to HS2, and various reportsĀ concerning the departmentās guidance on conducting transport appraisals which are also relevant to the assessment of HS2, including on issues such as values of travel time savings, demand forecasting and sub-national impacts.
