This article presents findings from the latest American Express Global Business Travel Forecast which predicts air, hotel and ground transportation prices to be neutral to slightly higher across all regions in 2015. At a country-by-country level, airline consolidations, stricter corporate travel policies and limited hotel supply are changing supply and demand dynamics and are also expected to impact pricing next year.

The 12 Lessons series pulls together knowledge on good practice in development co-operation from the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), drawing in particular on the findings of the DAC peer reviews. These lessons can help DAC members and other development actors to understand and implement measures that are critical to managing and delivering development co-operation more effectively. In 2013 alone, the African continent welcomed 65 million visitors. By 2030, the World Tourism Organization projects that Africa’s international tourist arrivals will rise to 134 million, an increase of 106%. In the latest issue of the Africa Tourism Monitor, a joint publication produced annually by the African Development Bank, New York University’s Africa House and the Africa Travel Association, the focus is on Africa’s greatest asset: its people.

This blog argues that after entering into a contract it is no argument or defence to claim the terms are ‘unfair’ as under the doctrine of freedom of contract, there is no requirement for the terms to be so. The lesson here is to be fully aware of the terms of your contract and your contractual obligations before signing the contract, which will actually mean reading it, including the small print.
