Comic Con at London ExCeL – A place you can be anyone you desire

The UK’s biggest pop culture convention has arrived to London’s ExCeL Centre on Friday, and there is plenty to see during the all-weekend event both for die-hard fans and first-timers.

What is Comic Con ?

Comic Con is the UK’s biggest anime, sci-fi, fantasy and video game-themed event, which is taking place between the 28th and 30th of October at London ExCeL.

What should you look out for?

The easiest way to get to the convention is to hop on the DLR (as the Elizabeth line is closed during the weekend due to planned maintenance), and get off at Custom House station.

Since the event attracts over 100,000 visitors, you might have to wait a while in line before you get in, so make sure to arrive early if you want to see a specific event.

Why should you come?

Ranging from anime to Star Wars, from manga drawing workshops to K-pop dance battles and retro gaming, there is something interesting for everyone.

After arriving at the event, you will most likely have a hard time deciding where to start. Luckily, the organisers created a map and an app for visitors, where you can browse through guests, events, and locations, and even build your own personalised schedule.

Celebrity Guests:

No matter if you are a fan of Anime, Tv shows, Marvel or Harry Potter, you can find plenty of well-known names on the guest list. This year’s guests of honours include Michael Sheen from Good Omens, and Tom Sturridge from the Sandman.

You can also book autographs and photo opportunities with some special guests; you can reserve your slot here.

Cosplay Central:

Cosplays are arguably the most eye-catching part of every MCM Comic Con. Children and adults dress up to display their love for their favourite characters, and you can easily get a picture with your most loved hero or villain.

At the Cosplay Central stage, you will have the chance to take part in events and workshops about everything cosplay related, and learn new things from members of the cosplaying community.

PoP Asia:

If you are interested in anything related to ESEA pop-culture, this is your place to be!

PoP Asia is also hosting some of London’s most prominent cultural groups to celebrate the best of Asian pop-culture. Programs include origami and manga drawing workshops, K-Pop performances, interactive games, martial arts presentations, and sumo demonstrations.

Side Quest

If you are a fan of video games, Side Quest is a must during your visit. No matter if you are looking to try the newest inventions in gaming, or take a trip down memory lane and play an old favourite, you won’t be disappointed.
