Tottenham score two as they breeze past rivals Arsenal

Early goals from Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane sealed Arsenals’ fate as Tottenham collect the three points.

After a full 90 minutes of London derby football. Spurs emerged as the victors thanks to early goals from in-form strikers Heung Min-Son and Harry Kane. Son opened the scoring converting a beautifully curled longshot into the top right-hand corner of the net before Kane added a second on the stroke of half-time.

The second half started and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side tried their best to get back into the game preventing Tottenham from registering a single shot on target for the second 45. The Gunner’s closest attempt came from a header by Alex Lacazette which managed to force a save from Hugo Lloris. Arteta spoke after the game,

“In terms of the performance, they did everything that I asked them to do. Absolutely everything. We played the way I believe we had to play this game.”

Arsenal is now without a win in their last 4 games as they head to 18th place Burnley next week. To make matters worse, Thomas Partey was forced off the pitch at half time after sustaining an injury to his hamstring. The player came off the pitch at the time Spurs were on a counter-attack consequently leading to their second goal.

As for Tottenham, they are yet to lose a match in their last five games. Mourinho’s side will be happier than ever as they retake the top spot away from previous holders Chelsea. Tottenham travels to Crystal Palace next week as they look to solidify their place at the top of the league, as they display their best form in the last couple of years.
