Before you can start your UCAS application, you’ll need to register to apply. This is where you’ll be given a username, you’ll also get a chance to create a password and set your security questions. In this section, you will also be asked to fill in some of your personal information, such as your name, email address and residential status.
After filling in your details, you will also be able to give a parent, guardian, or adviser nominated access allowing them to speak to UCAS about your application on your behalf.
If you are applying through school or college, you will be asked to enter your buzzword (find out more in our FAQs blog). Applying independently? Not a problem, you’ll just need to fill out a few additional questions instead.
Once complete, you’ll be provided with a UCAS personal ID number. You’ll be able to save your application as you go and mark each section as completed once you are ready.
